For the replacement of the very successful FLi model, Innocenti choose to switch to the new chassis as used on the Lambro 200. The name of this model now reflected the weight the vehicle could carry instead of the earlier engine sized naming.  Compared to the FLi the rear compartment was enlarged, bigger wheel rims were used, and the front forks were stronger and fitted with shock absorbers, these changes were seen on the earlier 200 model. Finally the optional electric wiper that was available on earlier models was now made a standard feature, the 450 also benefited from an electric dynamotor starter and larger 25 Ohm battery. The 450 was built for less then two years, but still managed to sell over 9,500 units, this was also the last model to feature the single front headlight.
