The new FDC with enclosed box

The FD model now had a C after its name, this stood for Cabin, now introduced for overseas markets that did not share Italys nice weather. The whole mechanical system was now covered by a housing which also double up us the support for the dual seat. Canvas sunshine roof was fitted as standard, but doors were and optional extra costing over £12.00 for a pair.

A small fire truck made by Innocenti in New York

Another new feature to be found on the FDC was a reverse gear, making the small three wheeler more and more like a "proper" vehicle. You could in fact if you wanted or dared to go backwards using all three gears! With this latest version of three wheels, the wooden boxes were dropped in favour of aluminum ones, in fact the choice of rear compartment still only numbered three. Outside companies designed and built different uses for the FDC making this number a little higher. One such conversion appearred in 1958 from the famous bodywork designer Ghia.

The Giardinetta or little garden passenger vehicle

Nick named Giarginetta, which means little garden, this version could carry three passengers in the rear compartment. A rain cover was also provided in case of bad weather, and even though the Giardineta enjoyed modern and clean looks, the public did not take to it with only a handfull being made. A few were used for the Olympic games held in Rome in 1960 to transport service personnel around the Olympic village

One other noteable conversion was performed by the Innocenti Corporation in New York was a small fire truck, it is not known how many were produced but it showed how versatile the little FDC could be.
